BACKGROUND
Infants under 1 year old and/or less than 20 lbs. are required to be placed in a "rear facing" child seat when traveling in an automobile.

The rear seat is the safest location for a child to ride, out of harms way of a passenger-side airbag.  Unfortunately however, the driver does not have clear visibility of the actual well-being of the infant.
